Dr. Castronova is an experienced educator dedicated to helping learners “create a system of thinking.” After 18 years as a science teacher, she now serves as an adjunct professor at Montclair State and Caldwell Universities, and provides professional development, coaching, and consulting for schools and organizations in New Jersey. She is an active member of the New Jersey Science Teachers Association and the Maitland P. Simmons Memorial Award Committee. Dr. Castronova has led innovative, grant-funded programs such as STEM PALS, featured on NJ-TV’s Classroom Close-Up and in “NSTA Reports.” Currently, she is Co-Principal Investigator for two National Science Foundation grants (S-STEM and Noyce). Certified as a national NGSX and OpenSciEd facilitator, she has also been an NGSS Teacher Leader for New Jersey. Dr. Castronova has presented at major conferences and authored two children’s books, including Gigi Feels Jumbled, which was featured by NJEA and Classroom Close-Up.
