Dr. Jonathan Ryan Davis is a Full Professor in the Department of Secondary Education at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). In addition to his decade at TCNJ, over the last twenty plus years, he taught high school Social Studies in Kentucky and New York City, undergraduate and graduate courses at multiple City University of New York colleges, and worked with schools and educators in countries across the globe. Dr. Davis’ research focuses on preparing new and supporting veteran teachers, including: culturally responsive teaching, classroom management, and diverse pedagogy. He is the author of the Palgrave Studies in Urban Education Series book, Classroom Management in Teacher Education Programs, which re-envisions classroom management and how to best prepare teachers to engage in creating positive learning environments. Dr. Davis is also the co-author of the Building Your Teaching Toolbox book series, which provides educators from all school contexts around the globe step-by-step breakdowns of how to implement and adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of their school and classroom.
